What is success? Everyone has their own version of what is a success and my version comes from a place of gratitude. I was so overwhelmed by the generosity of my friends and family showing up, and the generosity of total strangers that stopped to tell me how my art moved them.
As an artist my number one goal is to create what I love with the hope that it evokes some kind of response from the viewer. You can never control this response and I would never want to, but it is so gratifying when what you are trying to convey comes thru and people understand your vision. We all want to be heard and to know that we are understood. Friday night at the FotoBazaar gallery opening it was a success, because I felt heard and understood and I am so grateful.
Thank you to all that stopped by to say kind words about my art, and asked questions about how I made the images of Assateaques's wild horses. I am grateful to those of you who took my art home to hang on your walls. I hope it brings you happiness and joy every time you look at it.
The show featured 200 photographer and the creative energy in the gallery was so magical I did not want the night to end.
I want to extend a special thank you to Emily my dear friend who helped me install the art work. She made it so fun and always knew what to say when things got frustrating. I could not have done it without her help and guidance.
I also wanted to extend a big thank you to FotoDC for producing such a wonderful event and to Maggie at Dodge-Chrome for doing an amazing job producing my stunningly beautiful images.
